Over the weekend, BRAG (Black Retail Action Group) celebrated its 42 Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner Gala at Pier Sixty in NYC honoring Beverly Johnson (supermodel), Fern Mallis (Creator of NYFW), June Ambrose(Celebrity Stylist), Susan Gordan Akaad (Sr. VP, Local & Relevancy, Estee Lauder Companies Inc) and Thomas M. Belk Jr.(Chairman & CEO, Belk Company, Inc).
Presenting scholarships to select individuals as a means of providing needed financial assistance to African Americans and other students of color who are pursuing a career in retail or in a related industry, the Mistress of Ceremony was Tamron Hall (Host of MSNBC’s “NewsNation”) and additional attendees included Vivica A.
